To add a new Stage, click on “Add a New Stage” or to edit a Stage, click on “Edit Stage”.

Stage Duration Type can be ‘TimeBased’ (in days) or ‘Formula Based’. Time Based stays open for the set amount of days once initiated.

Formula Based is triggered by a variable set in the study design.

To create a new schedule in a stage, click on the “+ Add Schedule” button.

After naming the Schedule, a Schedule Type can be set for the Assessment.

Notifications for Scheduled Events (Fixed, Random, or Offset) will appear in the Notification Section of the phone.

A fixed time (in minutes) will be required so the Notification will only be valid for a set amount of time. After the allotted time has expired, the notification will no longer be valid and the assessment will not be able to be completed.

If attempted after time has expired, the app will open but no assessment will be displayed.

After completing the schedule, the Notification Timeout will be presented under Schedule Name (shown below). Any Edits to Notification Timeout can be made by clicking ‘Edit Schedule’.

The Self-Initiated schedule type allows participants to manually start an assessment from the main menu in the Insight application. Please note, participants can initiate the assessment at any time.

The Fixed Schedule type allows assessments to be scheduled for the participant anytime between wake and sleep times. These wake and sleep times are set when adding a participant to the Study.

When creating the Fixed schedule type, a schedule name needs to be added, an assessment selected, the groups the assessment will be given to, and the Notification Timeout (minutes) needs to be set.

After completing the first form, the second form will allow the selection of days and times for the assessment to be scheduled. An optional Random Offset can be established to the assessment so that the assessment can be schedule before or after a set amount of minutes (i.e., before will be a negative value such as -30 and after a positive value such as 30).

The Random Schedule type allows assessments to be randomly scheduled between participant wake and sleep times. These wake and sleep times are set when adding a participant to the Study.

When creating the Random schedule type, a schedule name needs to be added, an assessment selected, the groups the assessment will be given to, and the Notification Timeout (minutes) needs to be set.

After filling out the required fields and clicking ‘Next’, the Schedule Details form will have two types of Random schedules. Fixed and Participant Offset (further details below):

When creating the Participant Offset schedule type, a schedule name needs to be added, an assessment selected, the groups the assessment will be given to, and the Notification Timeout (minutes) needs to be set.

After completing the fields, click ‘Next'. The Scheduling Details form will appear in to fill out the days and times for the assessment to be scheduled.

After completing the Scheduling Details, click ‘Done’.

To see existing schedules in a stage, click the “+” button to the left of the row.

The row will expand and show the existing schedules within the stage.

To edit a schedule, click the ‘Edit Schedule’ button next to the schedule that needs to be edited.

A dialog box will open where changes can be made. After changes are complete, click next.

Click ‘Done’ to save any edits made.
