Message bins allow new intervention content to be delivered across different assessments or situations. Useful for displaying statements, facts, and encouragements with the option to be repeated after all messages have been viewed. Note that there are three sections when creating a message bin question.


Type a variable name and select message bin for the question type. Fill in the remaining fields and click “Next” to add responses.

Next, add text, description, and value in the responses section, then click “Next” to proceed. If additional space is needed, click and drag the bottom right of the box for more area. This does not affect the participant’s view of the question.

Lastly, there is an option for the participant to view one message per question type or there is the option for the participant to endlessly view all the messages inside the message bin.

If the message bin will not be repeating, leave the repeating box unchecked. Each time the message bin question type is presented to the participant in an assessment, they will only receive one message.

If the message bin will be repeating, check the box for repeating.

Click “Done” to complete creating the message bin question type.
