Rich Text is designed to support multiple text-rendering features outside of standard Text. TextOnly Questions have the single design purpose of displaying Question Text to the Participant. Rich Text allows multiple degrees of text formatting, using Markdown. Features include - bold text, italics, numbered lists in the Question Text, bullet-point lists in the Question Text, and linking online images by URL (network service required for the image to load).

A block of text that can be used to provide messages or instructions in the app; rich text allows additional formatting that is not available with the text only item type. For example, this item type allows users to bold, italicize, underline, highlight, and change font size and color in messages.

Do not copy-paste question text from a source that generates its own formatting. Rich-Text question text that is copy-pasted from a source with formatting provided (i.e. MS Word or MS Outlook) will include all of the hidden formatting which may cause undesired results. |
To use the rich text editor, highlight the text you want to bold, highlight, underline, etc. in the description field. Once the text is highlighted, the rich text editor will appear.
