Pipe-In Text can be used to pull response text from questions and/or to be included in an email or in another question type.

By adding the double curly brackets around a variable name in square brackets, the text response of the variable will display in the Title, Description, or Text of a question.

This can offer customization to questions and provides a unique reply to participant responses.

For example, if some Radio question named [VariableName] asked:

Today, I mostly felt…

Value 1. Happy
Value 2. Frustrated
Value 3. Sad
Value 4. Disgusted

and a participant answered with “Frustrated,” Pipe-In Text can display their response and offer ways to healthily handle the feeling.

It can also be sent in an email to researchers to identify participants who may need additional counseling.

Next, complete the question by adding response text and values. The values will later be used to present the participant with tips tailored to their mood.
