When creating a new assessment, the first page of the assessment form is used to name the assessment and set its timeout duration (minutes).

Assessment Name - distinguishes one assessment from another in a study. It’s recommended to use valid names to distinguish assessments from one another (e.g., “Morning Daily Diary Intervention Group,” “Quit Date Morning Daily Diary Control Group”).

Assessment Timeout (minutes) - allows studies to customize how long a specific assessment can be, that is, how long a participant has to complete an assessment before it closes. Extremely long assessment times may cause scheduled assessments to be skipped (i.e., a scheduled assessment cannot be prompted if a participant is completing another assessment).

In the example below, the assessment name is “Daily Morning Assessment Group 1” and when a participant takes this assessment, they will have 10 minutes to complete it before the assessment closes.

It is important to note that the assessment name will only allow alphanumeric characters and spaces.

Questions can be added on the second page form. To add the first question to the assessment, click “Add a question to the top.” Additional question details such as question text and question details can be viewed by clicking on the plus icon next to the question. To change question order, use the “Move” button.

After moving above or below a question, click “Save” to finish.

Cloning or copying an assessment is possible by clicking the clone icon within the assessments tab. Cloning copies the identical assessment settings for quicker study setup of similar assessments. If an assessment doesn’t appear after being cloned, click the “Reset Table” to refresh the table of assessments below it.

After clicking on clone icon, a dialog box will appear asking if you would like to continue with cloning the assessment.

After cloning the assessment, the assessment will appear in the list with “_Copy” attached to the end of the assessment name. The name of the assessment can be changed by clicking the edit icon.
