Message Bins

Message bins allow new intervention content to be delivered across different assessments or situations. Useful for displaying statements, facts, and encouragements. Note: By default, messages are repeated once the last item in a message bin is viewed. Note that there are three settings sections for message bin question type.

Type a variable name and select message bin for the question type. Fill in the remaining fields and click “Next” to add responses.

Next, add text, description, and value in the responses section, then click “Next” to proceed. If additional space is needed, click and drag the bottom right of the box for more area. This does not affect the participant’s view of the question.

Response Value(s) should ONLY be Whole Numeric Numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4…).

Lastly, researchers can allow participants to view only one message bin item within an assessment, or they can allow participants to view all the messages inside the message bin during an assessment.

If the Repeating button is NOT clicked, only one message from the message bin will be displayed to the participant (shown below).
